The Final Assignment

So over the course of time I have learned a whole lot of things that i never knew before. For one thing making a game is way harder than it looks. If you are going into the game making business you have my respect, it is a very hard process.Next teamwork is a virtue, if you don't work together as a team many things will NOT get done on anything you work on.
This class has been one of the most interesting classes I have taken since Ive gotten to Riverside. It teaches you not only how to create and teach people about social issues, it also has a English class mix to it. Its funny how the two classes fall together. Really in the beginning of this class I didn't think I wouldn't like it, but come to find out later it was one of my favorite classes.
Ive came a long way since the beginning of this class, making games doesn't seem like it would be that bad after all. In conclusion, making a game is a very lengthy process that isn't easy at all. It has to be something you love to do and something you are willing to take time out do to. Personally I don't think I could do it again but if I was asked to I think I could do it

Playing Games

today our assignment was to go to our classmates pages and play what was done of their games. so I played Pinky and the Brain and Jessamiahs games. Both games were very well developed jessimiahs game seems to be almost completely finished and Pinky and the Brains is almost done. They both seem to know what they are doing and there isn't much need for improvement. Our game on the other hand is a little behind. Some ideas I can take from the games are like noises and movement in the characters in my game. I could use a lot of help from the people in these 2 groups. Needless to say, these games are way better off than mine to say the least. There is little improvement needed here.

Group Chat

Yesterday we chatted on poems we read about. Our assignment was to read 3 poems, pick one and then summarize it to our group members. this assignment was very easily done, but it had some difficulty to it. Understanding the poetry was difficult, I really didn't understand it much. But with the help of my partners we talked about it and got it finished.

WV My Thoughts

A lot has happened in our great state lately. The evening of April 4th 25 coalminers lives were lost due to a methane gas explosion at the Upper Big Branch mine in Raleigh County. Many West Virginians are affected by the loss. Our state has great people in it and just like we always do, we pull together and help out one another.
This brings me to what WV means to me. I am proud to be apart of West Virginia. From the rivers and streams to the highest mountains, there are many great things about our state. The greatest thing about it is the people. The people of West Virginia are very unique. We also have a great history behind our state. No matter where life takes me I will remember my home.
This state is very important to me. To hear people talk bad about our state or not even know it exists disgusts me. As West Virginians we are perceived very negatively. We are known as hillbilly's, hicks, etc. Truth be told we hold some of the most humble people in the U.S. A West Virginian would be willing to do anything for someone else, but unfortunately we aren't looked at that way.
So being from West Virginia makes me proud, I will always know where I came from and will be very proud of my great state. West Virginia will always in my mind be the greatest state in the U.S.

Button tutorial

Today we learned how to create buttons. At first it was very difficult, but it got better as time went on. Hopefully this will help me stop struggling on making my game because I am having a very hard time right now. Buttons have a lot to do in my game and play a very important role in it. So the button making experience will hopefully come in handy for me !

Today while creating my game in flash I attempted to learn how to create a button. It was very successful and way easier than I thought. What I did was watch the flash tutorial on Chez's blog. It took me step by step through what it was I had to do. So my button making experience was very simple and easy :)

The Canterbury Characters

Today I'm blogging on what & why I think all the characters in The Canterbury tales are so important to there story and time period. Why were they selected ? Well there are 29 characters that were picked all of them with some sort of relevance. All were going to the Cathedral for a certain reason. They were going to pay tribute to a shrine. From the Monk to the Nun all were there for something. The reason he picked these people are because the all kind of relate to each other or act the same way. Some are good and some are bad, they just relate and make the story better. Now for the time and people going together, I can agree with sum of it and other parts I cant. Some of it doesn't seem to fit together. Some of the descriptions of the characters didn't match up ,it seemed like they just were not described quite right. So to relate this to my game, ill talk about the importance of the development of your character in your game. There has to be a storyline with your game, with the storyline there has to be a character created to relate with the story. It is very important that you choose your characters wisely. Character selection is about the most important thing to do with your game. So this blog post all in all was just to let you know why I thought the characters in the Canterbury Tales were picked for and why i think picking characters is the most important thing in game designing
